All the Blues in the Sky is one of those quiet, beautiful stories that stays with you long after the last page. Renée Watson writes with such tenderness about grief, and reading this alongside my twelve year old opened up some really important conversations in our house.

The story follows Sage, a young girl processing the sudden loss of her best friend. Told in verse, the book moves gently through the stages of grief without ever feeling heavy or overwhelming for younger readers. Watson has a real gift for capturing big emotions in small, honest moments, and I found myself tearing up more than once.

What I loved most as a parent was how the book handles friendship, memory, and healing without rushing any of it.
